Meditation is a way to relieve stress, ground yourself, and find inner peace. Wiccans believe in meditation as a daily ritual. They celebrate the element. Such as earth, air, fire, and water. With this concept, a Wicca meditation is a really great way to feel more grounded and centered. It is perfect for finding inner peace. To start a Wicca meditation, you want to be able to clear your mind. It is important to be able to focus. There is an emphasis on taking deep breaths and connecting to the breath that you are taking. The act of concentrating on your breath allows for full body relaxation. Which in turn helps alleviate worries, stress, or anxiety. I think the best time to do this meditation is at the end of the day. This is because it helps you unwind, and let go.
Sometimes, it is helpful to find a mantra while you are meditating. It doesn’t have to be the same thing every time. It can be beneficial to find a mantra that you can focus your energy on, so as to help block out the ‘noise’. “I am enough” or “I am strong” are always good mantras for me. You can choose to repeat your mantra out loud, or simply think it to yourself. It’s a great way to stay present in the moment, and focus your energy on the positive.
Another method of Wiccan meditation pertains to your breath. It’s one thing to breathe deeply, in and out. However, you want to make sure to take long, slow breaths. It can be helpful to hold your breath for 4-5 seconds, before exhaling. This technique helps reach relaxation, before diving into the meditation. Another way to feel more grounded is to place your feet directly on the earth. Close your eyes and picture your feet sinking deeper and deeper into the ground. Feel the soil. Visualize the leaves in the trees blowing. Feel the wind on your face. This method helps you feel more connected to the earth, and in return, find a grounding peace.
