Why is my health decreased in elden ring?

In Elden Ring, players are expected to find challenging boss fights in a vast, open world that spans several different dungeon-esque areas. FromSoftware's new game is a natural evolution of Dark Souls and will introduce new mechanics and challenges. This new world scale will offer players freedom and encourage exploration, while introducing some exciting gameplay elements like Horse Riding and Mounted Combat.

Stats are more than just HP and damage output in Elden Ring; they also govern weapons, equipment and effects that affect your character’s well-being. Thankfully, the game is happy to let you experiment with your stat levels and builds.

Defeating enemies in Elden Ring will give you Runes, which can be used to level up your character's stats and increase their maximum HP. Each stat requires a certain number of Runes to upgrade.

Status Buffs and Debuffs are another key aspect of Elden Ring. These buffs and debuffs affect your player’s health, FP and Stamina. They can also increase the amount of time it takes you to recover from a hit.

In addition to Status Buffs, there are also many other types of effects that can be inflicted on players. These can be devastating to both players and Bosses, so it’s important to understand what each one does.

Luckily, this health debuff can be removed by hugging Fia, the Deathbed Companion, at the Roundtable Hold. She’ll hug you with a small animation and then press your head into her chest. However, when you hug her, you’ll be given a health debuff that will reduce your max HP by 5%.
