Why Am I Craving Beans So Bad?

Craving beans is a common phenomenon that can be caused by various reasons. It can be a result of hunger or nutritional deficiencies. It can also be triggered by emotional or stress related factors. Another reason why you may be craving beans is because of a positive or pleasurable experience that you associate them with. Additionally, cravings can be a sign that your body needs certain nutrients, like phosphorous.

One of the main causes of bean cravings is because people are following restrictive diets. These diets often cut out major food groups – including beans. This can lead to intense cravings as your body craves nutrient-dense foods to compensate for the deprivation.

Another reason why you might be craving beans is because they are a high-fiber food. Fiber is essential for the body and it helps prevent constipation. It is recommended that you eat about 25-30 grams of fiber each day.

Cravings can also be a sign that your body is low in sugars. Since beans contain carbohydrates that break down into sugars, your body may be craving them to get the necessary sugars that it need. Moreover, beans are a great source of protein which is important for the body. It is especially beneficial for pregnant women, as it can help them meet the increased protein requirement of the fetus and safeguard against low birth weights.

If you’re craving beans, try to distract yourself by taking a walk, listening to music or FaceTime a friend. These activities will help you focus on something else other than food and make the decision to eat the beans more conscious rather than impulsive.
