What is Natural Living?

Natural living means something different for everyone, but in general it involves selecting non-toxic food, home and beauty products that are beneficial to both yourself and the environment. You should also reduce chemical exposure in your daily life by opting for natural soaps or shampoos over conventional ones.

An important element of natural living is getting outside and connecting with nature more. Spending time outside reduces stress and improves health; studies show that both green spaces (such as parks and forests) and blue spaces (aquatic environments such as rivers and lakes) provide health benefits, even to urban residents.

Natural living encompasses holistic health practices that encourage self-healing through less invasive means such as herbal remedies and acupuncture, while permaculture integrates nature's patterns into how we construct gardens, homes and communities promoting sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Adopting a natural lifestyle takes effort, but it's definitely achievable! All it takes to get there is gradual changes that matter most to you - beginning with those most significant to you and working your way from there. Natural living is not a destination--it is a lifelong journey of learning and adapting.
