DAYZ is an extremely difficult survival game that takes place in the post-Soviet country of Chernarus after a unknown virus struck. Survivors must constantly monitor their health, wash their hands, and eat fresh food to avoid sickness and infection. However, some illnesses and diseases are nearly impossible to treat in DAYZ. Some are even lethal.
One of the most dangerous diseases in DAYZ is Hemolytic Reaction, which causes severe bleeding and can lead to death if left untreated. This is a highly contagious illness that is easily caught from drinking the blood of another survivor or eating human meat harvested from dead players. Symptoms of Hemolytic Reaction include vomiting, fever, and rapid health loss. In a worst-case scenario, survivors with Hemolytic Reaction may lose all of their blood and fall unconscious. To treat Hemolytic Reaction, you will need an Epinephrine Auto-Injector.
Another serious disease in DAYZ is Brain Disease, which causes tremors and uncontrollable laughing. This is also a highly contagious disease that can be spread by skinning animals and eating raw meat from other survivors or from contaminated water. To treat this, you will need a Medical Kit that includes epinephrine and a syringe.
If you get a poisoning from Gasoline or Burned/Rotten Food Cans, your survivor will vomit intermittently for a while. This will cause a loss of 70 mL of Water and 55 kcal of Energy. To prevent getting poisoned, you should avoid consuming Gasoline or rotten food entirely. You can also use Charcoal Tablets to neutralize poison in your body.
