What Does Loq Mean?

The CBD market is largely unregulated, which means that products are sold without any regulations to keep them safe and healthy for the consumer. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a huge number of questionable products. Many people think that regulation is bad and are against it, but regulating products can prevent things like dangerous drugs from entering the marketplace.

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is an important document to look at when buying CBD. It will tell you exactly what is in the product and how much of it.

COAs typically list a product's terpene content, heavy metals, moisture content, pesticide residue and residual solvent levels. These tests are all a good indicator of how the product was grown and handled during production.

How to Read a COA

A certificate of analysis should be printed in a clear, legible font and should contain all of the information you need to make an informed decision about whether or not to purchase the product. The document should also state the LOQ, which is the limit of quantitation of a substance measured by the lab.

LOQs should be less than or equal to the federal legal THC LOQ of 0.3% for industrial hemp. However, a company that sells high-quality CBD may have a higher LOQ than the industry standard.

The LOQ should be lower than or equal to the total amount of CBD in the product, and any minor cannabinoids should also be present in the results.
