Towns nutrition offers a wide variety of healthy beverage options, from meal replacement shakes and protein drinks to loaded teas that are a great way to stay hydrated. They also offer beauty drinks that contain biotin and collagen to help hair growth and improve skin health.
The company, started by Lupita Rodriguez and her daughter Luz Salas, opened its doors in September of 2017 and has since been growing fast. With COVID-19, the shelter in place law that essentially bans restaurants from serving dine-in customers and requires them to close their dining areas at all times, Rodriguez and her staff have turned to curbside and delivery service for their energizing beverages.
They also are serving up a number of nutritional meals for seniors through the Town's Meals on Wheels program. With the help of Chef Carl Cosby and his assistant Sara Mundy, they are preparing about 60 meals each day at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church Hall.
Despite the fact that these meals are high in nutrition, they are still very low in calories and fat. This makes them a good choice for people who are on diets or who are trying to watch their weight.
In addition to meals, Town Nutrition also sells a number of dietary supplements that are very beneficial for health. These supplements have biotin and collagen to promote hair growth, vitamin C to help with eye health, and other nutrients that are good for the body.
