Spiritual Growth - What Does it Mean to Grow in Christ?

spiritual growth

Spiritual development occurs when we intentionally strive to become more like Christ. This journey should start the moment we accept Jesus as Savior and continue all the way until our passage into Heaven.

Spiritual development involves learning how to be still and listen to your inner voice - your Soul or Higher Self. Meditation and prayer can help develop this relationship; also important is making an effort to form strong bonds with other people to give yourself purpose while providing a support network when things get challenging.

Spiritual development involves learning to let go of things that don't serve you, including anger, resentment, jealousy, hurt feelings and self-pity. While compassion for yourself and others is crucial, you also must have the capacity to separate yourself from these negative emotions - this is where forgiveness plays its part.

As you develop spiritually, you gain greater awareness of life as an unfolding journey rather than something happening to you. This understanding reduces anxiety and stress levels so you can enjoy every moment more fully.

Forming an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is central to spiritual development. Additionally, studying the Bible and building community among fellow Christians are also key aspects. You can do this by attending church services regularly, listening to sermons and podcasts via apps such as MissionHub and talking to your friends about Christianity.
