Morning Meditation
First Watch is an award-winning Daytime Dining concept that serves made-to-order breakfast, brunch and lunch using fresh ingredients. The menu includes crave-able items such as Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos.
Founded in the 1980s, First Watch is a pioneering concept for “daytime cafes.” In fact, the chain’s entire business model is hinged on its limited hours: it only opens until 2:30 p.m. and doesn’t offer dinner or late-night eats (except for the occasional special event).
The Houston restaurant opened earlier this month in Lower Heights at 2799 Katy Fwy Suite #110. In addition to offering the chain’s extensive breakfast, brunch and lunch menu, the restaurant will also showcase socially responsible and award-winning Project Sunrise coffee grown by independent groups of female farmers in Colombia.
Its menu takes an elevated approach to traditional and innovative offerings – including crave-able favorites such as Avocado Toast, Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict, Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The menu also features new seasonal experimental dishes such as Shrimp & Grits, Crab Cake Benedict and the Chorizo Sunrise Sandwich.
A popular choice for guests seeking a healthy, flavorful and balanced meal is the protein-packed Quinoa Power Bowl. It’s made with quinoa, kale, crimini mushrooms and a variety of other healthful ingredients you don’t typically find at a breakfast spot.
Other menu options include the Chickichanga, an omelet-like sandwich with chorizo, green chilies, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, onions and avocado rolled in a four tortilla. It’s served with sour cream and salsa verde. You can also try the restaurant’s best-selling juice, Morning Meditation, which is juiced in-house daily and contains oranges, lemons, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beets.
