Meditation is a practice that has been around for thousands of years. It's one of the oldest forms of self-care and can help us cultivate our own spiritual growth, without being tied to any religion.

The benefits of Meditation:

Despite its many misconceptions, meditation has been shown to be beneficial for both mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, improve sleep and overall well-being.

It has also been linked to improved cognitive function and enhanced mental clarity. It can even enhance the development of neuroplasticity in our brains which can help us grow new cells and strengthen existing ones.

Mindfulness is the practice of being aware in the moment, paying attention to your breath and body sensations as they come and go. It is a form of meditation which can be used to calm your mind and increase focus and concentration on tasks at hand.

You don't need a lot of time to meditate, it can be done in just seconds and even the most busy person can fit this into their day!

The practice of meditation is often paired with the practice of metta, or loving-kindness. Metta is a practice that softens the heart and allows us to feel empathy for others.

In addition to the many meditation methods and practices, there are a number of creative ways to incorporate meditation into our everyday lives. For example, rock balancing has been used by Buddhists, yogis and stone-stacking artists as a form of meditation.
