Meditation Lotus - A Beginner's Yoga Posture

meditation lotus

Meditation lotus is a meditative seated position that is rooted in Hindu mythology and symbolism. It is also said to be a symbol of the divine and of strength and beauty.

The meditation lotus is also known as padmasana or full lotus pose and is a challenging yoga posture that requires good flexibility and strength. It is an excellent way to begin a meditation practice, especially if you are new to yoga.

Practicing this posture will help improve your posture, keeping your back straight and your spine elongated. This is an important step in improving your musculoskeletal health and can help relieve pain, especially back, neck and knee issues.

Sitting in this posture will also enhance your gastrointestinal function. This is because the body will move more fluid through the gastrointestinal tract while in this posture.

Aside from the physical benefits of this posture, practicing it can increase your energy levels, and improve your concentration and mental clarity. This is due to the fact that it activates your heart chakra.

Meditation Lotus Pose is a great way to calm the mind and focus on the breath. It is a wonderful foundation to your meditation practice, and it can be done at any time of the day.

To practice meditation lotus pose, seat yourself comfortably on a bolster or blanket with your legs folded and your knees resting on the floor. You can practice sitting in this position until you feel comfortable. If you have difficulty, practice half lotus (Ardha Padmasana) until you gain the flexibility and strength necessary to perform full lotus.
