75296 Darth Vader Meditation Chamber
Reconstructing a moment from The Empire Strikes Back in a new LEGO set, this 663-piece build recreates one of the most iconic scenes from the trilogy. Inside, Darth Vader sits on his rotating seat and faces a range of large displays and instrument panels. The set also includes a Minifigure of General Veers to complete the display, along with a nameplate and a small stud for a character to stand on.
The main feature of the chamber is a Technic mechanism that raises and lowers each hemisphere, mirroring the opening and closing seen in the film. The interior and exterior are painted in a crisp white, while black studs on each side make up the walls.
This is the first time that Darth Vader has come with printed arms, although we have previously seen him with a starch fabric cape (75294 Bespin Duel). The life-support control unit and belt are accurate to the movies, while the helmet incorporates intricate moulded detail on both sides.
Similarly, the torso is a superb replica of Vader’s design in The Empire Strikes Back, integrating precise metallic silver stripes on each shoulder and a full suit of armour to the chest and hips. The head displays intricate scarring, and he can be separated to reveal his bare skull.
The Darth Vader minifigure is a superb representation of the Sith Lord, with his printed arms and starch fabric cape adding a great deal to the appearance of the droid. General Veers, meanwhile, is another fine addition to the mix, sporting an Imperial Officer’s uniform and accurately displaying a rank indicator and code cylinder.
