Meditation is a tool that everyone should utilize. The great thing about meditation is that there are so many different types. Whether you only have five extra minutes in the day, an hour. Whether you are trying to rid yourself of stress, or need help falling asleep. Or maybe you are seeking clarity, or need help letting go of anger. There is something for everyone. One of my favorites is a jealousy meditation. Jealousy is an ugly emotion, but an emotion that we all feel from time to time. No matter how hard we try not to. Especially around the holidays. We could all use a little help keeping our emotions in check. Check out the Jealousy Meditation below.
Jealousy Meditation
What exactly is a jealousy mediation? Well, it’s pretty much what it sounds like. How often do you feel jealous? It could be for large reasons, like a relationship, career, or finances. Or it could be small, like clothes, pets, or lack of free time. Whatever it is, it’s a nagging and horrible emotion that is hard to ignore ourselves. The purpose of a jealousy mediation is to be able to de-clutter your mind. It aims to help you get rid of those pesky emotions that creep up from time to time.
This meditation works by allowing you to really think and explore what you are feeling. It can be overwhelming. The first step in any type of problem solving is identifying the problem. Let your mind wander. Once you figure out what you are feeling jealous over, let yourself fixate on it. While you are, be aware of your breathing. Take notice of the tenseness of your body, the more you think about it. As you are feeling this, try saying a few different mantras. Like “I am enough.” Or, “I have everything I need.” Or, picture the good things in your mind that you do have. Start fixating on the good.
There is a great 15 minute guided meditation of getting rid of jealousy. It’s a great video because the instructions from the guide are clear and concise. It’s easy to follow, and very helpful. Sometimes mediation is hard because your mind can wander, and you fall off track. With this video, it’s very easy to follow, and it is very beneficial.
