How to Remove a Hair Splinter

Getting a hair splinter can be extremely painful. Depending on where and how deep the splinter is, it can be difficult to remove by yourself. Luckily, there are a few easy and safe ways to get rid of them.

Start by looking at the splinter under a magnifying glass to determine how deep it is and how big it is. Next, soak the area in warm water and Epsom salts for 15-30 minutes to soften the skin. Then use a pair of tweezers to grab the splinter and pull it out.

If the splinter is too deep to reach with tweezers, a needle may be used. Sterilize the needle by flaming it with a lighter and then carefully pierce the skin at one end of the splinter. Gently push out part of the splinter with the needle and use tweezers to pull it out.

For more stubborn splinters, you can try using sticky tape. Cut a piece of tape to the size of your finger and put it on the tip of the splinter, leaving it there for 30 minutes. When the splinter is stuck to the tape, slowly peel it off.

If you’re still having trouble getting your splinter out, you can try making a baking soda paste. Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a tablespoon of water and apply it to the area with the splinter. Leave the paste on for 24 hours. The splinter should rise to the surface, making it easier to remove.
