How Long Do Tall People Live?

Being a tall person certainly has its perks, whether it's getting more attention in the crowd, looking like an action star or just earning more money. But there's one thing that many tall people seem to forget: how long do tall people live?

While the answer to this question will vary depending on your lifestyle and genetics, multiple studies have shown that those who are considered short in stature tend to live an average of 10-13 years less than their taller counterparts. There are several theories as to why this is, and while more research is needed, there is some evidence that height and longevity may be linked.

One theory is that shorter bodies have fewer cells, and since the body can't replicate as quickly when there are too few cells, they begin to break down faster. This may also allow for more cellular mutations, which can lead to cancerous cells. Alternatively, it's possible that taller people have bigger organs, and this can increase their risk of certain diseases such as heart disease and blood clots.

It's also worth noting that animals of larger species usually have longer lifespans than smaller ones, including humans. However, this doesn't always apply to individual species as we all know - for example, 6ft 7in former basketball player Neil Fingleton died of a heart attack at 36.
