Confidence Meditation: How to Build Your Self-esteem
We all experience times when we feel low or lack confidence. Whether it's a situation at work, an interaction with friends or family, a health issue, or anything else that makes you doubt yourself, there are ways to help improve your sense of confidence.
First, try to notice when you're feeling insecure or low on confidence. When that happens, sit down and do a quick confidence meditation.
Start by bringing to mind a real-life scenario that you're not feeling confident about at the moment. This could be something like a presentation, a conversation with someone or a meaningful goal that you've been wanting to accomplish.
Now try to shift into an emotional state of being completely confident about what you're doing, just like an actor or athlete would prepare for a performance. Play out the scenario in your mind, just the way that you'd like to see it unfold.
Repeat as often as you'd like and enjoy the experience!
Once you've done this for a while, you can begin to strengthen your connection with your felt experience of confidence. This will help you to touch your anchor any time you are faced with challenging situations and connect with your felt sense of self-confidence instead of your thoughts about it.
