Benefits of His Resurrection Sermons
Jesus has a way of turning perplexing pathways into pathways that we can follow with confidence. The Apostle Peter uses this as an example when he describes how many of the Jewish elders rejected Jesus as the Messiah because He did not fulfill their expectations (Acts 2:22).
These elders did not realize that Jesus was not just the Messiah, but the One who was sent to save them from their sins and lead them into the kingdom of God.
It was not until they saw Jesus after His resurrection that they understood that He is the risen Christ, our Lord and Savior. He has a way of helping those who have faith to discover the true answers to their greatest spiritual, emotional and physical challenges.
The first benefit of the resurrection is that it proves, affirms and declares that Jesus is the Son of God. This is a powerful fact, and it was emphasized by all the gospel writers and by the apostle Paul.
Secondly, the resurrection gives us assurance that we will be resurrected in the future. This is a wonderful gift for all those who trust in the power of Jesus to transform their lives.
Thirdly, the resurrection confirms that our salvation is secured by Jesus’ blood. It is a powerful truth that demonstrates that Jesus is the only sacrifice that cancels the penalty for our sins. Without this, we could not be saved from sin and death.
